SV Redsox?

Paul has been drafted to the Redsox, the SV Redsox Little League Major team, that is! Travel ball is over, rec basketball is still going. Emilie is playing indoor soccer and will be starting girls softball soon. Poor Nicolas is a spectator. It's really not that bad for him; he has a lot of baseball/basketball/soccer siblings to play with. I think he actually has a great time at sporting events!

Pray for Ashton and His Family

We recently learned that this cute little guy named Ashton has cancer. His family is a sweet group of 5 that we see only yearly during Little League and girl softball seasons. We first met Ashton's family when he was still in his mom's belly. Please pray for Ashton and his family as their life has been turned upside down. Click here for Ashton's blog.
Here is the info for the upcoming skate night fundraiser for Ashton.

Here is the info directly from Facebook:
Support for Ashton and his family in his fight against cancer
Send donations via PayPal to mailto:AshtonsCircle@gmail.com- All donations go straight into the account for Ashton's Circle of Hope at Comerica Bank.
Ashton is an amazing little three-year-old boy who was diagnosed with cancer in November 2008. Ashton quickly had surgery to remove a tumor near his brain stem and is being treated at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital in Palo Alto, CA, although the family lives about an hour away. Ashton has since started daily radiation and chemotherapy. Although the family does have medical insurance, the out-of-pocket expenses add up quickly, including transportation to and from Palo Alto every day. Please consider a donation to Ashton’s Circle of Hope, in any amount you can manage. You can read updates on Ashton here: http://howisashton.blogspot.com/Please send donations via PayPal to mailto:AshtonsCircle@gmail.comBecause of time and cost, Ashton's Circle of Hope is not an official nonprofit organization. All donations go straight into the account for Ashton's Circle of Hope at Comerica Bank to help the family with expenses associated with Ashton's treatment. Thank you for all your support!

The 19th of January is the Perfect Beach Day! and Winners!

"Take the first step in faith. You don't have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step." Martin Luther King, Jr.

Since we have had 70F weather for the last week, we are celebrating Martin Luther King Jr. day at the beach. We will be thinking of all you who have to shovel snow and scrape ice from your windsheilds while we are basking in the sun and making sand castles.

Oh, and we have a winner...actually 2 winners since only 2 of you left a comment. Please Tracy and Colleen Mary, email me (pattiaerickson@aol.com) with your address and I will send you both 6 boxes of Carmel Delights. Enjoy!

Please blog readers, be brave and leave a comment and I'll pick a winner on Sunday! AND...remember that Girl Scout Cookie sales begin tomorrow. Email or comment if interested in purchasing GS cookies from my sweet Brownie, Emilie!

Sup? or What Is Up?

2009 has started with a bang (literally, with fireworks...thank you Uncle Mike, fire fighter/macho man). We are busy with school, sports, work, and more sports. No resolutions this year, just a new word, a new reading list and a new "crafty/scrappy to-do" list.
My word for 2009 is GRATITUDE!
My reading list is as follows.
Transformations is a book that I have never read, but has been sitting on my bookshelf for a few years. As I was doing my OCD New Year's cleaning, it fell off the shelf and screamed "read me".Your Money or Your Life is the first book in the Simple Mom book club (see side bar for info). We have been "off-budget" for a while. I am hoping that this will get us on the straight and narrow. The Digital Photography Book was recommended by the folks at the Digital Photography School. This book and the following project will help me get in sync with my camera.

My craft/scrap plans include making a sock monkey and tackling "Project 365". My wonderful AV has a couple sock monkeys that friends have made for her. They are so darn cute; I must try one for myself. Info on Project 365 can be found here. Love this project and it will force me to use my camera daily.

FYI...Girl Scout cookies go on sale January 17th. Shoot me an email or leave a comment if interested.
